Tony Packo's at the Ball Park / Winterfest 2014 Artwork

Since June 2011, I've worked as a part-time employee for the Toledo-famous restaurant, Tony Packo's - first I was a food counter attendant, now I am a gift shop attendant.

Recently, I was commissioned by one of my higher-ups to create some artwork promoting the company's original characters during Toledo's 2014 Winter Fest event. I also managed to incorporate the Toledo Mud Hen and Walleye mascots, since a) The restaurant I work at is the Downtown location, right next door to Fifth-Third Field, and b) The Toledo Walleye are featured prominently throughout / are hosting Winter Fest.

The characters featured are, in order from the top: Dill the Pickle, Frank the Hot Dog, Pickles the Packo Dog, Nana the Bell Pepper and Baby Brittany the Tomato.

All the pieces featured above are currently on display next door to the company's downtown restaurant, right next door to the Mud Hens' stadium! (In the recently purchased-by-Packo's Swan Creek Candle Shop) They'll be on display until the end of January. :D

Here's what the installed work looks like on site:

This was a really great project, and I had lots of fun working on it!

Sketchbook - Character Silhouettes & Facial Shapes

I apologize for the poor quality of the photos - my scanner finally (after four long years) appears to not be working anymore, so I had to resort to photography.

Assorted facial shape / character shape studies! Heavily referenced from the works of various artists I admire.

"Queen's Heart" - Kane Sketches

An original character of mine who was in desperate need of a design revamp!

RWBY Fan Art

I told myself that this blog of mine wouldn't have any fan art of it...and yet here I am, sharing fan art. *throws hands in the air* I promise this won't be a regular thing and will try to keep the content as original as possible!

Confession time: I'm a huge huge fan of Monty Oum's RWBY. It caters to all of my interests - dynamic leading ladies, modern spins on classic fairy tales, and classic anime tropes. It also gives me an excuse to practice designing female characters that all don't look alike.
(...did I succeed?)

"RWBY - Revolution" can also be found on dA here!

Misc. Animation - Character Animation Basics

Assorted projects from my ANIM 504: Character Animation Basics course during my first quarter at SCAD. :D

Everyone loves corgis.

Animation Demo Reel (2012-2013)

Excerpts from my short films and undergrad class projects!

I need to update this soon. :D

Character Designs - Potoo!

The finalized character designs for my BFA short film, Potoo!

The last two birds were cut from production due to time constraints, but I definitely want to include them in a later update of the film.

Research Studies - Potoo!

Research sketches completed for my BFA thesis short film, Potoo!

From top to bottom: the common potoo, white-crested marsh tyrant, red bird of paradise, frigate-bird, and superb bird of paradise.

The latter three birds were unfortunately cut from the film due to production/time constraints, but in the future, I'd like to approach the project again and add them into the film.

Potoo!

Birds are well known for their intricate mating rituals and animal magnetism. Mr. Potoo, however, is not one of those birds. Can he win the ladybird of his dreams, or will he let his nerves get the better of him?!

My second animated short film, as well as my senior BFA thesis project. :D
This has actually become a project very near and dear to my heart, so I plan to re-vamp and remake this short film starting in the summer. There were a lot of things I wanted to convey in this story that sadly had to be cut in order to meet the thesis' deadline. But overall, I enjoyed working on this immensely and look forward to revisiting this characters in the future!!

Computer Mouse Run Cycle

A short run cycle completed for my Advanced Character Animation course at BGSU.

Flight - Character Design

Character sheets and model turnarounds for my 2013 short film, Flight.

Flight

My first animated short film, produced during my junior year in undergrad at BGSU.

It's the story of an origami crane who discovers a dream to fly after a chance encounter with a crow. Although the crow is a bit of a skeptic, the crane is out to prove that nothing should stand in the way of your dreams, and that even wings of paper can carry you places.

Little Green Monster

A short claymation piece I created for my Principles of Animation class at BGSU.

The character featured is from the series Fullmetal Alchemist, created by Hiromu Arakawa. :)

Tsunami

An abstract particle animation that I initially created for my Particle Animation class at BGSU during my Fall 2013 Quarter.

It explores excitement and challenges that come with the creative process, such as the inception of ideas and the difficulties that arise when too many ideas come together.
